Over 100 people, including Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies and Assembly Candidate Russell George, packed the Llanfair Institute on Monday to express their anger at National Grid proposals to cover Montgomeryshire in huge turbines and pylons.
Following a short presentation by Alison Davies and Lance Mytton of the Conservation of Upland Powys (CUP) group, each Assembly Candidate gave a short presentation to outline their party's position on wind turbines.
Russell George gained a large amount of support for his strong opposition to the turbines. "TAN8 is out of date," said Mr George, "It is a policy which has been pushed through by the Welsh Assembly Government with no thought to transport implications or the devastating effect on our communities.
"If I cam successfully elected I will work hard to bring pressure to ministers to have this disgraceful policy withdrawn."
