Montgomeryshire Assembly Member, Russell George, has launched his new constituency office with a successful coffee morning, raising £241 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Mr George officially opened his office, situated on 13 Parker’s Lane in Newtown, last Saturday morning. The event was attended by dozens of local constituents, including this year’s Miss Montgomeryshire, Beverly Roberts.
Commenting Mr George said:
“I’m very pleased by the amount of people that turned out for the opening of my new constituency office.
“I want to thank all those who attended and all those who brought and donated cake so that everyone was well fed.
“In particular, I want to thank all my constituency team for ensuring it was such a well organised and successful event.
“We managed to raise £241 on the day and it will all go to enable MacMillan to continue delivering vital services for cancer patients in Montgomeryshire.
